DOVER, Del. - A 79-year-old Selbyville man matched five white balls for the March 2nd POWERBALL® drawing, winning $1,000,000 before taxes. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased two Quick Pick POWERBALL® tickets for the drawing from the Fenwick Island Goose Creek.

"I won $500 before, but obviously nothing this big," the man said. "I checked my numbers on the website ( the morning after the drawing. I couldn't believe it."

After taxes, the man took home $760,000.

Tennessee Man Wins $50,000 Powerball Prize in Missouri

While visiting southeast Missouri, a man from the Memphis, Tennessee area happened to purchase one of two $50,000 winning tickets sold in the Show Me State for the March 9 Powerball drawing.

Michael Watson of Cuba, Tennessee said he generally plays the Powerball when the jackpots start to get higher than usual. With the March 9 jackpot at $414 million, Watson said he picked up some tickets from Huck’s Food Store, 823 E. Malone Ave., in Sikeston.

Lori Butterworth of Harrisonville is one of two Missouri players who matched four of five white-ball numbers plus the Powerball in the March 6 Powerball drawing to win $50,000.

Butterworth, who described her win as “shocking,” purchased her winning ticket from QuikTrip, 11101 E. 40 Highway, in Independence.

Lincoln, NE – Zach Norenberg of Fremont won $1 million playing Powerball from the Nebraska Lottery.

Norenberg purchased his winning ticket at Hy-Vee Gas at 828 East 23rd Street in Fremont. The ticket contained three plays, one of which matched five out of five winning numbers (06, 10, 21, 35, 68) but not the winning Powerball number (23) from the March 6 drawing.
