Gene Dice Sr. of Sergeant Bluff said he stops for coffee most days at a local convenience store and during his visit there on Sunday, he asked the clerk to check his Powerball ticket from the previous night’s drawing.

A regular Louisiana Lottery Powerball player for several years, Josephine Arceneaux of Hammond finally hit it big on Jan. 30 when she won $50,000 by matching four white-ball numbers plus the red Powerball number during that evening’s drawing.

Arceneaux and her kids were excited and surprised by the win since this was the first time she had won such a large amount.

According to Arceneaux, the prize was well timed. 

Arceneaux said that while she is not completely sure what she is going to do with all her winnings, she does plan to pay off a few bills.

CLIVE, Iowa — A Sioux City woman says she’ll stop reminding her husband to wear his glasses now that a hiccup caused by his eyesight led to them winning a $150,000 Powerball prize.

Barbara Haley, 68, claimed the prize after the ticket that she and her husband Steve purchased matched four of five white balls and the Powerball in Saturday’s drawing. She was one number away from winning that night’s $23.2 million jackpot.

“My dad passed away in March and he had some numbers that he used to play,” he said. “I dug them back up and I started playing them and those happened to be the numbers that hit.”

NEW YORK (November 10, 2020) - A Malta man has claimed the $94.8 million jackpot from the September 16 Powerball drawing. His ticket matched all six numbers drawn, making him New York’s newest Lottery multi-millionaire.

The winning Powerball numbers for the September 16 drawing were 10-17-31-51-53 Powerball 1.

The lucky winner has claimed the prize through the September 2020, LLC. He will receive a one-time lump sum payment totaling $50,868,332 after required withholdings.

Richard Martinez, 72, matched the five white balls - 05-12-34-45-56 - in the Aug. 15 drawing to win the big prize. He bought his winning ticket at the 7-Eleven, located at 7970 Gratiot Road in Saginaw.
