Powerball Jackpot Reaches $193 Million; $1 Million Power Play Prize Won

(Powerball) Even though the grand prize was not hit Wednesday evening, Powerball had some huge winners.  One ticket in Oregon (1) matched all 5 white ball numbers with the Power Play for an incredible $1 million cash win! This is part of the new game feature that guarantees a 5X multiplier on all match 5 white ball winners that also have the Power Play option pushing the prize to $1 million cash. Five other lucky tickets sold in Arizona (2), Florida (1), Pennsylvania (1) and Wisconsin (1), each won $200,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers!  

The jackpot for the Saturday, October 3rd drawing will be $193 million with the cash option at $99.6 million.

The numbers drawn Wednesday evening were 41, 42, 52, 54, 57, and the Powerball was 30. The Power Play multiplier was 3.

A whopping 28 tickets matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Two additional tickets of that prize level had the Power Play and had the prize multiplied by 3 for a $30,000 cash win!  A total of 904,748 tickets across the nation won more than $7.3 million in prizes playing America’s favorite game.

A total of 149,164 winning Powerball tickets multiplied their prize by 3 Wednesday. Players were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for $1. With Power Play you multiply your Powerball winnings from 2-5 times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing an animated spinner presents each multiplier number.

Players should carefully check their tickets after every draw. Even if there are no jackpot winners there are always tens of thousands of winners at other prize levels.

Players purchased $38,706,626 in Powerball and Power Play tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night.

The lotteries sold $2.56 billion in Powerball tickets in fiscal year 2009. That translates into over $743 million for worthwhile state projects.

Powerball is now played in 30 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
